Our partnership with CF Stead & Co. brings together two British heritage brands for footwear steeped in refined sophistication and history. Founded in 1904, CF Stead is a tannery in Leeds, West Yorkshire specializing in high-quality, imported, naturally-tanned skins — and we've been using their leather since 1970.
- Made with Wax Commander by C.F. Stead, a heavyweight leather with a deeply waxed finish and a vintage feel
- Built on the iconic and comfortable Dr. Martens AirWair™ air-cushioned sole, with a commando tread
- The sole is secured using one of the most durable construction methods available: the Goodyear welt

Leather & care
Wipe with a damp cloth and feed the leather with a quality balm. Never machine wash. Full-grain and smooth leathers soften and darken with wear — that patina is part of the boot.

Find your fit
Docs are famously roomy — plenty of people size down half or a full size from their usual shoe. Measure your foot and check the size guide if you are between sizes.
Wear it your way
Lace them tight and high, loose and low, or swap in ribbon laces. The 1460 has been styled with everything from suits to kilts since 1960.
Leather & care
Brush off mud, wipe with a damp cloth, then feed the leather with balm. Store away from direct heat so the soles hold their shape.
